It always makes us happy here at Sportingley to see when one of the disability clubs that we have found a sponsor for and supplied the free sportswear to, shouts about it on social media!
Southwest Inclusive FC are based out of the Saltash United football ground in Saltash, Plymouth but they draw disability players from across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The club is a pan-disability club which means that they have players with varying types of disability from mental health issues to learning disabilities.
One of the biggest expenses for any grassroots football club is the cost of buying the match kit. And Southwest Inclusive had the same problem! In fact they had placed a post on LinkedIn asking for recommendations for low cost kit suppliers when we spotted their plea. We then got in touch and said that we could help them find a sponsor. And within a few weeks we got Austen Knapman on board, who were thrilled to support the team.
Austen Knapman are a South Devon based family-run steel stockholder, established over 25 years with clients throughout the South West. They supply steel, aluminium, roofing sheets, welding equipment and accessories to trade and the public. They hold over 1000 tonnes of steel in stock and 120 tonnes of roof sheets.
Once we got the sponsor on board, then our design team got to work on producing a stunning match kit for the team. This is probably one of our best designs of the year so far. And the team were able to show it off at a local tournament for disability football.
